Police hunting one of Coventry's most wanted men have made an arrest.
They have been looking for Kai Flynn since May in connection with a shooting in Cross Road and allegation sof blackmail against a man and his family.
A 33 year old man was arrested when armed officers surrounded a house in Radford early this morning.
Coventry Police Inspector Hasson Shigdar described the arrest as "very significant".
He said: "Police and community intelligence links Flynn to gang activity in the city and the supply of drugs and firearms.
"We have carried out numerous arrest attempts to bring him into custody and the arrest we’ve made this morning is very significant.
"Flynn is also wanted by colleagues in Warwickshire on suspicion of breaching a suspended prison sentence; we will be working with them and doing all we can to remand the suspect into prison."
The arrest followed a suspected sighting of Flynn - from Tile Hill - in the Bell Green area and the subsequent police pursuit of a vehicle which was spotted being driven dangerously in Lydgate Road, Radford.
The pursuit was abandoned on safety grounds as the Mini sped at 60mph in 30-zones, jumped red lights and performed hazardous overtakes.
However, it was later found abandoned in Addison Road and a man arrested by officers from West Midlands Police’s firearms unit in nearby The Scotchill.
