A Coventry man has been jailed for 16 years after admitting fatally stabbing his mother.
Thomas Westwood, of Rosemary Close in Tile Hill, was arrested by officers on 1 December 2018 after they were called to his mother's address in Cavendish Road, Coventry.
On arrival, police found 68-year-old Susan Westwood with multiple stab wounds.
Westwood was detained at the scene and claimed an argument started after he made a cup of tea for his mother which was "not milky enough".
The 46-year-old claimed his mother had been bullying him every day and was to blame for initiating the knife attack. He also described her attacking him with the blade first.
A post-mortem examination found Susan Westwood died as a result of 17 stab wounds.
Westwood admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility on the first day of his trial in June, and was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court yesterday (16 April).
