A man has died after being struck by a train at Coventry station.
Crews from West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to reports of a collision between a train and a person at the station just before 8am this morning (31 December).
One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the incident, but nothing could be done to save the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
There has been severe disruption at the station as a result, with trains coming to a temporary halt earlier - affecting hundreds of passengers.
All train lines have since reopened and a full service resumed, but some trains were left cancelled or facing delays of up to 30 minutes.
British Transport Police have been contacted for further comment.
