Murder arrest following Coventry stabbing

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Jaydon Washington James in Coventry have this morning (Thursday 29 November) arrested a teenager on suspicion of murder.

The 16-year-old was arrested from an address in Oxford and has now been bailed pending further enquiries.

Jaydon (pictured) was with friends in Deedmore Road, Wood End, when he was stabbed on Saturday (24 November). He died in hospital soon after being admitted.

His two friends, who were also injured, have since been released from hospital.

Chief Superintendent Mike O’Hara, from Coventry Police, said: "This is a significant step forward but our enquiries are continuing.

"A teenage boy has lost his life and I would urge anyone with information which can assist our investigation to come forward as soon as possible."

Anyone with information can contact West Midlands Police via Live Chat at www.west-midlands.pnn.police.uk 8am - midnight.

Alternatively you can call 101 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
