Police release CCTV to trace Coventry hit and run van

Police investigating a hit-and-run in Coventry have released footage of the vehicle they want to trace in connection with the collision.

Officers want to speak to the driver of this van which is suspected of being involved in the collision on the A45 Fletchamstead Highway on Monday 24 September.

A father and his seven-year-old son were struck near the Kenilworth Road junction around 4.40pm.

The 38-year-old dad suffered a leg injury and his son facial injuries which were fortunately not serious.

Sergeant Liam Hemmings, from West Midlands Police traffic unit, said: "They were crossing the road when hit by the vehicle and it is just good fortune they were not more seriously hurt.

"We believe the driver would have known there had been a collision and we are urging anyone who recognises this vehicle to contact us."
