Shop worker attacked in violent robbery

An elderly shop worker's been attacked during a violent robbery in Coventry this morning (Wednesday 10 April).

Police were called to Akash Jewellers on Foleshill Road just after 11am where an elderly shop worker had been seriously assaulted. He was taken to hospital where he remains this afternoon, with a suspected broken jaw.

Two men made off with Asian gold. One is described as a white man of a medium build and around 5ft 6 to 8ins tall and the other as an Asian man of medium build aged between 30-40 and between 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall.
