A woman's had to jump from a moving car in Coventry after being kidnapped.
It’s understood the 41-year-old escaped from a silver-blue Peugeot 406 as it was being driven along Gulson Road at around 4.25am on Sunday 3 December.
A group of up to eight men and women - believed to have spoken with eastern European accents - ran to help the woman and chased the suspect before he made off in the car.
She suffered facial injuries and was treated in hospital, while officers later arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of kidnap; he has been bailed pending further enquiries.
The Good Samaritans left the scene without leaving any details with the woman - and officers are now keen to speak to them as they may hold vital information about the incident.
It is believed to have been a domestic incident and anyone with information is urged to contact PC Chris Gallon, from Coventry Police's Domestic Abuse Team, on the 101 number quoting crime reference 20CV/261495G/17.
